Randy Lees RL003

Randy Lees
Choose My Memories

Randy Lees died in New Orleans on July 30, 1996 at the age of 45, a result of the diabetes that challenged him throughout his adult life. Though he had made many other places his home for over 20 years, many of us who knew him well felt that it was fitting for Randy's life to end in New Orleans as it was the place in which he first discovered his gift for music. Returning home brought him closer to many of his friends, and his son, during the last two years of his life. In a manner of speaking, it closed the circle.

This album is offered as part of that closing, and because of my utter conviction that my love for Randy's songs and voice will be shared by others. This album is the first of two that are planned as a compilation of material that spans Randy's career, a period of nearly 25 years.
